ROLE PURPOSE/ SUMMARY
Pobal works on behalf of Government, and in conjunction with
communities, charities, and local agencies, to support social
inclusion and community development. We do this by managing funding
(circa ?0.**Apply on the website**bn in **Apply on the website**)
across **Apply on the website** programmes in the areas of Social
Inclusion and Equality, Inclusive Employment and Enterprise, and Early
Learning and Care.
The successful applicant will be responsible for auditing a range of
Pobal funded programmes by ensuring that monies are spent for the
purposes intended and that key conditions attached to the funding,
including good governance standards, are complied with.
A key requirement is to provide objective and constructive feedback to
Pobal funded organisations to assist them in improving record-keeping
and governance standards. Therefore, the ability to communicate
clearly, succinctly, and effectively, both verbally and in writing, is
critical.
Depending on business needs, the successful applicant will work
interchangeably across a diverse range of business areas within the
CAR Directorate, including routine verification checks, targeted risk
audits and governance assessments, which focus on key policies and
procedures.
Checks are expected to involve on-site visits to Pobal funded
organisations, remote (desk-based) assessments or a blended approach.
Once government restrictions have been lifted, it is envisaged that
the role will involve **Apply on the website**% travel within the
Republic of Ireland.
While outputs must be delivered in a timely manner, a high degree of
flexibility is expected and the ability to work autonomously in a
diverse range of locations is essential.
